Manifesto Novices' Hurdle Tips: Grey Dawning heads the betting for Aintree opener

Grey Dawning is the strong favourite to win the Manifesto Novices' Hurdle today.

The Manifesto Novices' Hurdle kicks of the Aintree 2024 Festival with the first of many Grade 1 races this week.

This one seems to be all about Skelton's star Grey Dawning who is off the back of an impressive two length Cheltenham victory over today's rival Ginny's Destiny.

Fellow Cheltenham runner, Il Etait Temps who is trained by the prolific Willie Mullins also lines up next to the impressive pair and is no forlorn hope at 11/4 (best price at BetMGM).

This race has historically been dominated by horses that have ran at Cheltenham Festival last time out, however this hasn't been the case in the last three years.

Perhaps this provides some hope for outside chance Blow Your Wad who is a 14/1 shot and the sole entrant who didn't compete at Cheltenham Festival.

Blow Your Wad 5.22%
Colonel Harry 5.20%

The table above shows the percentage of bets made through oddschecker on potential horses to win the Manifesto Novices' Hurdle today.

It is no surprise that Grey Dawning has seen so much support in the betting markets after his impressive win over Ginny's Destiny at Cheltenham recently when he cemented his status as the leading British-trained novice. He reopposes the same horse on the same terms today.

He may well have more improvement to come and will take to the ground today just fine, if he jumps as slick as he did at Cheltenham (which is positive since he fell over hurdles here last year) then his rivals will have to put on a very impressive display to beat this Skelton trained horse.
