The five most popular bets for the 2024 Grand National at Aintree.
Corach Rambler
The most popular selection for the 2024 Grand National on Saturday is last year's winner CORACH RAMBLER.
The reigning champion aims for a rare repeat win. This dual Ultima Chase victor at Cheltenham showed promise finishing third in the Betfair Chase at Haydock before securing a commendable third in last month's Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Concerns lie in tough ground conditions as he may not take well to a heavy going especially off the back a tough race last month.
He remains a contender for a crown defense and punters fancy his chances as 10% of bets made through oddschecker are on him.
Limerick Lace
LIMERICK LACE is the second most popular selection as the Gavin Cromwell trained mare attempts to be the first mare to win this race since 1951.
Her latest triumph was at the Cheltenham Festival’s Mares’ Chase, covering two and a half miles and comfirming her progressive nature.
She has only ever raced over three-miles once before which resulted in a resilient second place in the Troytown Chase. This provides enough evidence to suggest she might take to this stamina test.
She has been backed in 7% of bets made through oddschecker on potential winners of this race.
I Am Maximus
This eight-year-old horse, previously trained by Nicky Henderson, has thrived since moving to Willie Mullins’ stable. He clinched the Irish Grand National last year and followed it up with a win in the Drinmore Novice Chase.
I AM MAXIMUS didn't find much success in the Irish Gold Cup or the Savills Chase recently but he outperformed last year’s Grand National runner-up by 14 lengths in the Bobbyjo Chase, despite giving Vanillier 12Ib. This strong form bodes well for his upcoming major race.
He has been backed in 6% of bets made through oddschecker on this race.

Panda Boy
The fourth most popular bet is the largely consistent eight-year-old PANDA BOY.
He was fifth in last year's Irish Grand National and finished a commendable second in the Paddy Power Chase in December. His recent prep run at Leopardstown saw him finish fourth over hurdles. He has certainly shown enough to make him a very interesting option.
It is worth noting his trainer won this race with Numbersixvalverde back in 2006.
Panda Boy has received 5% of bets on this race made through oddschecker.
Mahler Mission
MAHLER MISSION was travelling very well when four lengths clear in last year's National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham Festival before she fell at the second last hurdle.
The winner of that, Gaillard Du Mesnil went on to finish third in the 2023 Grand National.
Mahler Mission (backed by Stu William as part of his complete runners guide for the race) has been backed in 5% of bets made through oddschecker.
