Who are the best long shots to win the Grand National 2024?

Here is a look at some outside chances in the Grand National.

The biggest day in British horse racing takes place today and the Grand National is the centrepiece.

A line up of 32 horses will go head-to-head over 4m 2f competing for victory in the world’s biggest jump race.

Part of the appeal of this fantastic race is some of the big price winners it throws out. Nine of the last 12 winners of this race has had a price of 14/1 or bigger with the average priced winner being 25/1.

With over 32 horses running there will no doubt be some surprise outsiders in the mix at the finish line, so who might they be?

Eldorado Allen at 80/1

This is one of big outsiders in the race at a best price of 80/1 (available at Unibet and Bet365) and has some impressive form for such a big priced runner.

He ran well at the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury when he stayed over 3m2f, jumping the last with a lot of confidence and finishing strong.

Joe Tizzard’s horse finished about nine lengths behind Mahler Mission in that race who is 12/1 today. He receives a 11lb swing with Mahler Mission from that race.

He looked like he will be able to handle a longer trip and his dam produced a 4m winner which provides some hope for the veteran in this stamina test.

Roi Mage at 66/1

Roi Mage finished 7th in this race last year and can be found at a price of 66/1 at various bookmakers today.

The ground didn’t suit him that day, but he gets the soft going he was after today and runs off 2lbs less.
He has likely been targeted for this race and has had better preparation than last year when he suffered an injury in late January.

The experienced James Reveley has flown over from France to ride.

Noble Yeats at 22/1

The 2022 Grand National winner is not a big outsider but has a attractive price of 22/1 at the time of writing this.

He stayed on for fourth last year showing that he can handle the rise in weight.

He was nine lengths off the winner Corach Rambler last year and is a stone better off in the weights today which makes this price even more attractive at double the price Corach Rambler is.

He is known for his staying ability, the ground will suit, and with Cobden booked to ride this horse is sure to run well.
