Last year’s Scottish Grand National winner ran a big race last weekend at Aintree.
In the Scottish Grand National 12 months ago, the pre-race bookmaker odds had suggested a shootout between Kitty’s Light and Your Own Story as 4/1 joint favourites.
Your Own Story was the most popular betting selection through oddschecker, as jockey Derek Fox and trainer Lucinda Russell looked to back up their Grand National win with Corach Rambler.
In the end, he dropped off the race to finish sixth, leaving the path clear for Kitty’s Light to run clear inside the final 100 yards and beat Cooper’s Cross by three lengths.
It was the first part of a rare double for Kitty's Light, who followed up his win at Ayr by landing the Bet365 Gold Cup as part of the Jump Finale at Sandown.
Kitty’s Light is trained by Christian Williams and mostly ridden by Jack Tudor.
Can we see a repeat of the Kitty’s Light double in 2024?
Kitty’s Light is the ante-post favourite to win the Bet365 Gold Cup, but a number of the runners declared for the 2024 Scottish Grand National still hold an entry for the race at Sandown, including Macdermott, Beauport, Stay Away Fay, Mr Incredible, My Silver Lining and We’llhavewan.
