Five runners will fight it out in the Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket on Thursday.
The Group 2 Princess of Wales's Stakes headlines the Thursday card at Newmarket to kick off three days of action at the July Festival.
The ante-post favourite for the race is Ghostwriter, who joined Amo Racing for £2 million on the eve of Royal Ascot before finishing 3rd in the Hardwicke Stakes.
Second favourite is last year's German Derby winner Palladium (£1.2m purchase for Lady Bamford), who bids to reverse the form having finished a place behind Ghostwriter in the Hardwicke at the Royal Meeting.
Wimbledon Hawkeye is rated the third likeliest winner of the five declared runners having finished 5th in the 2000 Guineas, 3rd in the Dante Stakes and 4th in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Finally, Godolphin pair Arabian Crown and El Cordobes (the choice of William Buick) are the relative outsiders in a bunched looking field.
The former won last year’s Sandown Classic Trial but disappointed at the same track in April, while the latter won at Newmarket’s Guineas Festival but finished close to 10 lengths off the pace most recently at York.
