The former President won in all seven of the key swing states, including a vital victory in Pennsylvania worth 19 Electoral College Votes.
The betting markets also saw plenty of interest in this US Election, with over £300 million in matched bets placed on all 2024 US Election markets. This shows how much of an appetite there has been for betting on such a momentous occasion, something we also saw in the 2020 election.

Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US Election in what was somewhat of a shock. It also saw him take 304 Electoral College Votes (ECVs) in total, which he could surpass this year.
Based on current projections at the time of writing, Trump is predicted to claim anywhere between 280 and 314 ECVs, with the end of that scale taking him beyond his 2016 total.
For context, the highest number of ECVs by a Republican candidate was George H.W. Bush in 1988 who won 426 of 538. Trump still has a long way to go to beat that total, but he is on course to surpass 2016.
