Trump impeachment ODDS-ON following Michael Cohen guilty plea

A spike in bets have followed the guilty plea of Michael Cohen.

Michael Cohen yesterday pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws during the 2017 presidential run and that has caused pressure to build on Trump’s administration.

That admission relates to hush money paid to Mr Trump’s lovers and has seen the 72-year-old’s tumble to 4/6 for him to impeached by the house in his first term.

Former Trump campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was also convicted yesterday of bank and tax fraud, which has reignited speculation that Trump will himself have legal proceedings brought against him.

Punters clearly agree, with 76% of bets in the last four hours placed on Trump not lasting his full term at odds of 5/4.

That obviously puts a re-election in 2020 in major doubt, with the former business tycoon’s odds falling to 13/8 – making it the least probable since he was elected in November.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “News of Michael Cohen’s guilty plea has resulted in a spike in bets on President Trump being impeached in his first term.

“A surge of bets has sent the price crashing to odds-on, which in layman’s terms, means that bookies think an impeachment is more likely than not.”
