Theresa May has a 75% chance of leaving office in 2019 despite vote of confidence

The Conservative leader is heavily odds-on to leave next year.

Theresa May has a 75% chance of leaving office in 2019, despite winning a vote of confidence in a dramatic day at Westminster.

Bookies have reacted to the news by cutting her odds of an exit in 2020 or later while keeping next year as the most likely exit date.

It’s 4/9 best price for May to leave next year, with 1/3 the shortest price available.

2020 or later is now 5/2 after being 4/1 this morning.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "Punters who have backed May to leave before the new year may be disheartened, however, as the 7/2 available this morning has ballooned to a huge 12/1.

"Although May appears to be in the clear for the very near future, bookies are predicting a 75% chance that she leaves next year. "
