Bookmakers think there’s a 75% chance of it happening by the end of 2020
Odds have been slashed on Donald Trump being impeached during his first term as US President, following allegations made by a whistle-blower.
In fact, the odds of impeachment have hit an all-time low at the bookmakers, with a 75% chance predicted that it happens before the end of 2020.
That means odds have been cut from 2/1 into 1/3 on exactly that happening, with money continuing to pour in for his impeachment.
On the flip slide, odds on Trump not to be impeached have drifted out to 6/4, with not a great deal of action in the betting market.
The stakes in the market are only flowing one way, with 86% if all bets backing ‘yes’, on whether Trump will be impeached.
Elsewhere, Trump is the clear 5/4 favourite to win the 2020 US Presidential Election, ahead of the nearest challenger Elizabeth Warren (3/1).
The man caught up in the Ukraine scandal, Joe Biden, is the third favourite for office at 8/1, followed by Bernie Sanders at 16/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “With the 2020 election starting to loom large, it's looking like a poor time for Donald Trump to find himself in hot water.
“Despite the White House promising full disclosure of Trump's communications with Ukraine, there is still an air of cloak and dagger about the whole saga - leading many punters to believe presidential misdemeanours were indeed committed."
