Bookmakers have unanimously cut odds on Boris Johnson leaving his post as Prime Minister this year after Sir Graham Brady announced that a vote of confidence in the PM will take place this evening.

Odds have been slashed from 5/2 into as short as 17/20 with some British bookmakers (best price 11/10) that Johnson leaves office in 2022.  

The year 2022 is by far the betting favourite when looking at which year Johnson will leave, ahead of ‘2024 or later’ at 7/4.

Boris Johnson Vote of No Confidence Result Odds:

When looking at the result of the vote of no confidence, bookies are favouring Johnson. According to sportsbook SBK, Johnson has a 4/11 chance of winning.

On the flip side, the same bookmaker is predicting a 12/5 chance (9/4 elsewhere) that Johnson loses the vote of no confidence later this evening.

Next Conservative Leader Odds:

In terms of a potential replacement, the biggest market mover is former Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt, who has been cut into clear favourite for next Tory leader.

Hunt’s odds have halved from 11/1 into 11/2 best price with Coral. Some bookies are going even shorter, with bet365 offering 7/2. 

Liz Truss is the consensus second favourite at 7/1, followed by Tom Tugendhat (8/1), Penny Mordaunt (9/1), Ben Wallace (10/1) and Rishi Sunak (14/1).
