Odds on Terry crash after X Factor final win on Sunday evening.
The celebrations looks set to continue for X Factor winner Matt Terry after bookies’ slashed his odds to 7/4 for Christmas Number One. Terry, who overcame Saara Alto on Sunday evening, debuts in the charts with “When Christmas Comes Around”, written by Ed Sheeran.
However, the Bromley born winner faces some stiff opposition with the Friends of Jo Cox (best odds 6/1) and Louis Tomlinson (best odds 8/1) second and third favourites respectively. Other realistic contenders include The London Hospices Choir, Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey, and Inspiral Carpets.
The Christmas Number One market has seen a lot of movement in the last week or so, with Friends of Jo Cox, Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik and The London Hospices Choir all favourite during December so far.
The Christmas Top 40 will be counted down next Friday (the 23rd) on BBC Radio 1, and will only include singles available at least a week before the cut-off which is midnight on 22nd December.
