Could the impromptu meeting between Kanye West and Donald Trump at Trump Towers this afternoon hint at something more meaningful in 2020?
It has become the norm for potential cabinet secretaries to take a visit to Trump Towers during President-elect Trump's transition but few would have expected to see Kanye West and his entourage on a Tuesday morning. Especially when you factor in the star's hospitalisation last month.
He reappeared following that stint in hospital when he reappeared in Los Angeles last week but did not reveal why he had a meeting with the President-elect. Following their meeting this morning, Trump and West posed for photos following their 30 minute meeting, with Trump later saying he had talked "life" with Kanye, calling him a "good man" and a friend.
Could Kanye be angling for a position in Trump's cabinet though? Stranger things have happened and given what has already happened this year, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to see the musician make the move into politics.
Bookies have even priced up West to be win the next presidential election at odds of 200/1. That may seem ridiculous at the end of 2016 but then so did the notion that Trump would make it into the White House back in 2014, when he was 125/1 to win the 2016 election.
