The 1975 set to battle it out with Kayne West for NME's award for Best Album.
The 1975 frontman Matt Healy said “The world needs this album” when the English rock band released their album ‘I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It’. By the looks of the odds for the album to win Best Album at the NME awards, he wasn’t wrong. The 1975 are 6/4 favourite for the award, giving them a 40% chance of winning whilst Kayne West is currently second in the market at 15/6 with his album ‘The Life of Pablo’.
Glastonbury Festival made the headlines this week as it’s set to change name when it moves home in 2019. Before the historic event changes its name to The Variety Bazaar it’s still got chance to collect a few more awards. Glastonbury heads the market at 4/11 to win the Best Festival at the NME Awards. The five-day festival is set to win its fourth Best Festival Award in a row, the second favourite, Reading and Leeds Festivals looks some way off challenging at 4/1.
Chelmsford born ‘Ratboy’ took home the award for the Best Newcomer in 2016 but this year it looks like the award will go to an overseas act. Christine and The Queens burst onto the scene with their catchy hit ‘Tilted’ and the French singer has a 45% chance of winning the award this year according to the odds. However, she faces stiff competition from Anderson Paak, who is 13/5 (27.8%).
One of the most popular markets with Oddschecker users is the Top Female Artist and even though Adele is second favourite, 47% of bets placed on the market through our site have been on her at 11/5. Charli XCX leads the way in terms of odds (8/5) in a congested market which includes PJ Harvey (16/5) and MIA (5/1). In other markets, Wolf Alice are 6/4 favourite to win back-to-back Best Live Band awards. Beyonce is also 6/4 to take home the award for Best Video thanks to her video Formation. Finally, unsurprisingly Game of Thrones is 6/5 to collect the Best TV show award ahead of Fleabag at 7/4.
