Following today’s Twitter mishap the presenter has been priced up at 8/1 to resign.
The Channel 4’s gamble of re-shuffling the presenters appeared to have paid off before today, but thanks to a Twitter gaff the final could prove to be a flop. The new presenting line-up has won over the majority of fans, however not many will be able to forgive Prue Leith for announcing the winner before tonight’s episode. Don’t worry this article won’t give away the winner….
Bookies have priced Prue Leith to resign within twenty-four hours of tonight’s showing of the Bake Off at 8/1, implying a 11.1% chance that tonight will be the last time Leith is on the show. Which some may feel is just reward following today’s mistake.
Even if you know the winner of tonight’s episode, we’ve found a way of still discovering a surprise or two. One bookmaker has priced up which innuendo will be muttered first in tonight’s final.
Rather predictably, “Fantastic buns” is the 5/2 favourite in the innuendo market, while one phrase more designed for Mr Hollywood is “It’s all in the wrist action”, and can be backed at 7/2.
This market has been surprisingly popular on Oddschecker; the phrase “Give it a good forking” has been the most backed phrase at 20/1.
Punters can also back any baker to deliberately sabotage another’s bake at 20/1, and they can get 50/1 for any baker to set fire to the tent.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek "In a series which has seen inedible pizzas and burnt baked goods aplenty, Prue Leith has seemingly made the biggest Bake off blunder yet. The 8/1 that the judge could follow the contestants out of the show could well shorten up, although she could make it up to many a punter should she oblige in the innuendo market."
