Sam Darnold is the darling of punters when it comes to the number one NFL Draft pick

The city of Cleveland may well be pinning their hopes on yet another different QB.

With no meaningful football being played between now and September, all the hype and excitement of the NFL Draft takes centre stage for three days of trades, picks and reactions from 32 hard-core passionate fan-bases.

Sitting right at the top (again) are the Cleveland Browns, fresh off their history-making 0-16 season. Desperate for a QB to build their ailing franchise around, the general consensus is that USC Trojans star Sam Darnold will be the one they turn to. He’s a current 4/9 best price favourite to be first pick, with 55% of bets in the market going on the 20-year-old.

If it isn’t Darnold that gets the pick, Josh Allen could well be the next port of call. He’s 3/1 for the first pick, but only 22% of bets have gone on the Wyoming Cowboys player.

It’s a big jump to the next two QB’s, all with potential star talent, with Baker Mayfield 20/1 and Josh Rosen 25/1 respectively.

The only non QB in the top five of the betting is Saquon Barkley. The RB is 12/1 to be picked first but a tiny 1/20 to be the first Running Back drafted. But with the Browns actively seeking Quarterbacks, it seems unlikely he will be heading to Ohio.

Finally, there looks to be a battle between three DB’s to be picked first, Denzel Ward (5/4), Minkah Fitzpatrick (7/5) and Derwin James (6/4) are all being sniffed around by franchises in the top bracket and ones who may be willing to trade up, but all have specific talents that could be a great fit.

There’s surprises every year but if you think you know what’s going to happen (and we all love a mock draft), you could win yourself a lot of cash!
