Where will the new-born Royal baby go to university? Bookies release favourite - and it's not in England

Bookies believe a famous old university will be the setting for the education of William and Kate's third child.

With the name of the Royal baby imminent, bookies have been scrambling for specials on what is to be expected of the one-day-old.

Bookmakers claim that St Andrews will be the University of choice for the unnamed infant, installing it as 9/4 favourite.

The University of Oxford is the bookies second pick for where they think the little Royal will go on to study, that’s 3/1 to be chosen.

The other longest serving British learning institution, Cambridge, is next at 4/1, followed by the Scottish capital of Edinburgh at 5/1.

Bookies claim the royal to study at the University of York is around a 12/1 shot, and King’s College London rounds off the betting at 16/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Given that St. Andrews was where his parents met, it should come as no surprise that the Scottish University ranks the highest.

“He would certainly be afforded a level of privacy that Oxford or Cambridge would be unable to offer, given the huge tourist trade that the historic cities benefit from.”
