Bookmakers have predicted the chance of snowfall on the December 25th across the UK, with Newcastle the most likely city to have a white Christmas at 11/4.

It’s been a popular bet compared to other cities too, attracting 36% of all bets on which major UK cities will receive snowfall.

Elsewhere, Scottish cities Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh are touted as 5/2 shots to snow on December 25th.

Manchester is one of the favourites to receive snow at 4/1, with North West neighbours Liverpool close behind at 5/1.

Belfast is another 5/1 city to be white on the festive day, but of the capitals London is currently further adrift at 6/1 alongside Birmingham.

Cardiff and Bristol are notable longer shots, rounding off the bookies’ list at 8/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “There’s a magical buzz around the country at Christmas time. The pubs are packed out and the cosy winter clothes are on.

“A white Christmas in the UK would be the cherry on top of the cake, and it appears bookies think there’s a very distinct possibility of snow on the big day.

“With a cold snap expected to kick in this week, we fully expect those odds not to freeze, but to plummet as we edge closer to December 25th.”
