A flurry of bets have been placed on Idris Elba being named the next James Bond, following the Luther star’s selfie with Daniel Craig last night at the Golden Globes.
Bookies have cut odds on Elba being named Bond from 14/1 into 4/1, ahead of the likes of highly-fancied Tom Hardy and Richard Madden.
The 46-year-old sent his fans into a frenzy last night, posting the picture of the two studs with the caption “awks”, prompting a spate of bets on the actor.
Since the picture went viral, a whopping 65% of all bets on the Bond market have been placed on Elba, with money continuing to pile in for the actor.
Elsewhere, the current favourite for the famous role is Tom Hiddleston at 6/4, followed by James Norton at 5/2. Idris Elba is now the third favourite to be chosen for the iconic role.
