James Cahill is the most backed player for World Championship glory in the last 24 hours, as he miraculously beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 10 frames to 8 in the first round.
The 23-year-old amateur player has received a quarter of all bets on the market, over four times as many as current 4/1 favourite Neil Robertson.
The Blackpool-born amateur has seen his odds of 1500/1 dramatically slashed and he is now as short as 50/1, whilst 70/1 is still available.
O'Sullivan was the punters' pick before a cue ball was struck, receiving 18% of bets in the week leading up to the tournament.
It was one of the most shocking results in crucible history, as Cahill defied pre-match odds of 22/1 to knock out the world number one.
Many thought it would have been an easy win for Rocket, the shortest price bookies were offering was 1/250. That implies a 99.6% chance O'Sullivan would win.
