Bookies are predicting thermometers to top 38.5°C
As the country ditches their rain ponchos for their Piz Buin, bookmakers are predicting that the UK will record its highest ever temperature this week, with the country set for a scorching heatwave.
Bookies have priced up the highest temperature ever recorded in the UK at 4/6. Which in layman’s terms, is a 60% chance of topping the previous high of 38.5°C.
That prediction is exactly the same as the Met Office’s, who have predicted a 60% chance that we see a record heat recorded before Sunday (July 28).
Using the Met Office’s predictions, the UK is set to be warmer than the likes of Cairo (Egypt) and Casablanca (Morroco) tomorrow.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Cancel those flights you’ve booked to Marbella, ditch the cruise around the Mediterranean, sell your Ocean Beach tickets – the UK is the only place to be for a scorching summer.
"As pub-goers prepare to battle for beer garden seats across the nation—fighting over the best spots like snarling hounds contending over the last, juicy pork chop in the bowl—the sizzling sun may just send this country into a new level of meltdown."
