Tour de France odds: Bernal favourite ahead of stage 19

The Colombian is set to challenge Julian Alaphilippe for the yellow jersey.

Colombian rider Egan Bernal is the favourite to win stage 19 of the Tour de France, and to come away with the yellow jersey.

Having made up time in the latest mountain stage, won by compatriot Nairo Quintana, Bernal is the 4/1 favourite to win stage 19.

Currently second in the standings, he is also favourite to win the Tour overall, but he has drifted slightly to 7/4.

In the last 24 hours, it’s a three-way tie with the punters. Bernal, Alaphilippe and Quintana have all accrued 24% of bets each. Thibaut Pinot is the fourth most backed with 10%.

Britain’s Geraint Thomas currently sits third in the overall standings. The defending champion is priced at 4/1 to win this year’s race.

Julian Alaphilippe is hoping to become the first French winner of the race since 1985. However, his slim advantage is looking vulnerable heading into the final competitive stages.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “The Tour de France is hugely competitive this year, with a handful of riders all still in contention heading into the closing stages.

“The climbs have caused massive shifts in the markets and today’s is likely to do the same. At 9/2, bookies are beginning to write off Alaphilippe’s chances having been odds-on just a week ago.”
