Odds have been slashed from 10/1 to 11/4 in the last week.
It’s officially been announced that The Roop will represent Lithuania in the Eurovision song contest 2020. Since the announcement, Lithuania's odds of winning the completion have shortened dramatically.
Over the last week, a massive 54% of bets have landed on the nation having success this year, causing odds to shorten radically from 10/1 a week ago and now at the best price of 7/2. That makes them the clear favorite in the market.
The Trio, who describe their music as a mix between pop-rock and indie, were the winning artists out of a pool of eight in the final of Pabandom iš naujo.
They won on their performance of “On Fire”. According to The Roop, the song is about writing yourself off too quickly and how we underestimate ourselves too often.
The group was also in the running to represent Lithuania in 2018. The came second with 16,491 votes with their performance of “Yes I Do”.
It would be a momentous win for Lithuania who’s greatest achievement in the competition was their sixth-place tiebreaker with the Czech Republic and Belarus.
Elsewhere in the market, Italy remains an attractive bet. In the past week they’ve picked up the second most amount of bets, that being said it is a minute 9% in comparison to Lithuania.
Antonio Diodato, known just as Diodato, will represent Italy. The Italian Pop-Rock singer-songwriter is now available at the best price of 9/1.
Romania have attracted just 4% of bets in the last week in the competition, possibly from value hunting punters.
Roxen will represent them in this year’s competition due to a collaboration between broadcaster Romanian Television and Global Records.
She gained notoriety in 2019 when she featured on Romanian produces Sicktoy’s “You Don’t Love Me” and has only been releasing music since 2019. The market outsider is available at the best price of 10/1 but is certainly turning punters heads.
Ireland, Sweden and The United Kingdom (in that order) are the most successful nations in the history of the competition. They’re all yet to have announced their representatives for this year and are certain nations to keep an eye out for in this market.
