Who will land the consensus GOAT of American Football?
UK bookmakers have released odds on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s next club, following his announcement that he will not be returning to the franchise.
The early market leader in the race for the QB is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are 1/2 clear favourites in the betting.
The Bucs have been the beneficiary for the majority of the early money, with 38% of all bets taken in the market so far backing the Bruce Arians-led team.
That could mean a move away from the franchise for Jameis Winston, after a rollercoaster year for the 26-year old seen him throw 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.
Next in the market are the LA Chargers at 2/1, with veteran QB Philip Rivers heavily fancied to join the Indianapolis Colts.
Moving to a new city and stadium, the newly-monikered Las Vegas Raiders are the third favourites to secure the signature of Brady at 6/1.
Odds then lengthen slightly to the Indianapolis Colts and the Miami Dolphins at 10/1, with both franchises currently experiencing uncertainty over their signal-callers.
Despite Mitch Trubisky not pulling up any trees in his debut season for the Chicago Bears, Matt Nagy’s side are long-shots at 20/1 to be the next destination for Brady.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “One distraction from the lack of sport at the moment is NFL free agency, which was set alight yesterday when Deandre Hopkins made a blockbuster move to the Arizona Cardinals.
“It seems like an off-season of excitement is in store for NFL fans, and Tom Brady’s announcement that he will not return to the Patriots has stoked the fire for one of the biggest ever moves within the NFL.
“With weapons such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Breshad Perriman potentially at his disposal, you can see why Tampa Bay would be an interesting prospect for Brady’s next chapter.”
