Deriving from Germanic roots, Wilfred means ‘he who wants peace’ and has been cut from 14/1 into 2/1 clear favourite in the market.
Wilfred has been the most popular punt in the market, attracting 23% of all bets since the news was announced this morning.
That means it’s just ahead of the second favourite name, George, which is currently 8/1, alongside Thomas (8/1).
A name synonymous in the Royal Family, Arthur is 10/1 to be chosen for the Prime Minister’s most recent child.

Oliver and Winston are both the same price at 12/1, followed by Charlie, Jack and David which are all 16/1.
