Mary Earps SPOTY Odds
Mary Earps has been given a greater than 90% chance of winning the 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year on Tuesday night having won the Golden Glove at the 2023 Women's World Cup.
The 30-year-old conceded just four goals in seven matches, while also saving a penalty in England's final loss against Spain. She also claimed the Women's Super League Golden Glove for the 2022-23 season with Manchester United, having kept a record 14 clean sheets.
Stuart Broad SPOTY Odds
Former England cricketer Stuart Broad is considered the only genuine contender to Mary Earps in the race to win this year’s award. He is the only other nominee with a best price shorter than 20/1, with bet365 offering 9/1 (10% chance) for the 37-year-old.
Broad is second in the list of leading test wicket takers for England with 604, including 22 in the drawn 2023 Ashes against Australia this summer.
He announced his retirement shortly before the end of the series, playing his final match at the Oval. Broad is one of only 10 men to score more than 3,000 runs and take 300 wickets at Test level.

Has a woman ever won Sports Personality of the Year?
Swimmer Anita Lonsbrough became the first female recipient of the main award in 1962, eight years after it was launched in 1954.
The award has been dominated by male winners over the years (54-14), while figure-skating couple Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are counted as a single mixed-gender winner.
However, Mary Earps would become the third female winner in a row after Emma Raducanu in 2021 and Beth Mead in 2022.
