Chloe Kelly Sports Personality of the Year Odds As Her Price Plummets

Chloe Kelly's odds have been slashed to win SPOTY after her Euro-winning heroics.

Chloe Kelly heads into the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) race as one of the standout favourites, having once again delivered when it mattered most for the Lionesses.

Her decisive penalty in the Euro 2025 final against Spain capped a remarkable personal comeback, just months after nearly walking away from the game.

Kelly’s heroics have made her a leading contender for the public-voted award, but she faces stiff competition from Rory McIlroy, whose Masters victory completed a historic career Grand Slam, and Luke Littler, the teenage darts sensation who continues to defy expectations.

With no Olympics or men’s football World Cup on the calendar, this year’s SPOTY spotlight shines on women’s football, Formula 1, darts, and golf.

Chloe Kelly’s rise to the forefront of the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year race has been one of the most compelling stories of the sporting summer.

At the start of July, Kelly was a 100/1 outsider for SPOTY, with limited minutes at Manchester City, an uncertain club future, and little indication she’d play a central role for England at Euro 2025.

She is now a best price of 7/4 with bet365.

Fast forward a few weeks, and she’s now as short as 2/1 with some bookmakers, second only to Rory McIlroy, after producing one of the tournament’s defining moments.

Her nerveless penalty in the final shootout against Spain clinched England’s second consecutive European Championship, echoing her iconic extra-time winner at Euro 2022.

It wasn’t a one-off either: Kelly also scored a rebound goal in the semi-final against Italy, converted a crucial penalty in the quarter-final versus Sweden, and assisted Alessia Russo’s equaliser in the final.

Her transformation from squad fringe to national hero has added a compelling emotional narrative. After a tough first half of the 2024–25 season with City, where she made just one WSL start, she considered walking away from the game altogether in January.

Instead, she joined Arsenal, reignited her form, won the Women’s Champions League, and ended the season with a starring role in England’s latest triumph.

With no Olympics or men’s World Cup dominating headlines, and with women having won SPOTY four years in a row, the environment is primed for Kelly to make a serious push.
