The Nobel Peace Prize 2026 winner is announced today.
Climate activist Vanessa Nakate and Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms are joint favourites for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, ahead of this morning's announcement in Oslo. Both are 19/10, with Doctors Without Borders the third favourite at 29/10.
Donald Trump, who has made no secret of wanting the prize, is 11/2, and he is the most popular pick with punters on Oddschecker. The Norwegian Nobel Committee will name this year's laureate at 10am BST on Friday 9 October, choosing from 287 candidates, made up of 208 individuals and 79 organisations. That is down from 338 last year.

Sudan's Emergency Response Rooms have been backed in the final days. They were cut from 21/10 to 19/10 with BetGoodwin, BetAhoy and BetTom on Thursday. The network of volunteers runs communal kitchens, evacuations and medical care for civilians caught up in Sudan's civil war. They are on the shortlist from Henrik Urdal's successor at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), Haakon Gjerløw, whose list is one of the most closely watched guides to the prize. Karim Haggag, director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), has also named them as his favourite.
Nakate shares top spot at 19/10, the same price she has been since the start of October.
Doctors Without Borders were the biggest mover among the leading contenders on Thursday. They were cut from 15/4 to 29/10.
Donald Trump Nobel Peace Prize odds
Trump is 11/2 and is the most popular bet in the market. Ahead of the announcement he said: "I'm not bragging. I'm just telling you the facts. I settled eight wars, and big ones." He added: "They have a reputation for maybe not giving it to people like me." His claim to have ended eight wars is disputed.
The leaders of Cambodia, Israel and Pakistan say they have nominated him, and Cambodia has published its letter. The committee never confirms nominations. Gjerløw has described Trump's chances as "quite low".
Other Nobel Peace Prize contenders
The International Court of Justice is 13/2. Gjerløw has tipped it, together with the International Criminal Court, as a defence of international law. Nobel historian Øivind Stenersen said: "This year calls for a Peace Prize in defence of liberal democracy, international law and human rights."
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is 17/2, and UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese is 14/1 after an MEP publicly nominated her alongside the doctors of Gaza.
Several names on the PRIO shortlist are not among the 15 selections listed here. Those are Mykola Kuleba's Save Ukraine with Save the Children, the Committee to Protect Journalists, and the International Space Station partnership.
When is the Nobel Peace Prize 2026 announced?
Committee chair Jørgen Watne Frydnes will announce the winner at 10am BST (11am in Oslo) at the Norwegian Nobel Institute, with a livestream on the official Nobel websites. The prize is worth SEK 12 million, up SEK 1 million this year, and will be presented in Oslo on 10 December.
Last year's prize went to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado "for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela".
