Andreas Seppi has beaten Nick Kyrgios in five sets despite the Australian being 1/200 to win the match in play.
The final score of an emotional roller coaster of a match was 1-6-6-7 6-4 6-2 10-8 in favour of Seppi.
Kyrgios though was seemingly cruising when two sets up and looked good for a straight forward win. After winning the second set, the Australian was 1/200 to win the match with Seppi a huge outsider at 40/1 and a mountain to climb.
Kyrgios, as he's become known for, suffered from a total loss in concentration towards the end of third set, just when he needed to hold it together to finish the match off. He was broken by Seppi during that period to gift the Italian that third set and never looked the same afterwards.
Aside from the odd trick shot, Seppi looked the better and more stable player in a long fifth set that he always looked more likely to win with his superior mental strength. Even when Kyrgios had three break points on the Seppi serve and then one match point, you never really got the feeling he could hold it together and so it proved.
Seppi moves on to the third round of a grand slam for the first time since this tournament in 2016, while Kyrgios will have to lick his wounds once again. He will surely be blasted by the Australian press for his attitude during the match and it will be interesting to see how he comes back from this.
