The youngster is getting all the attention from punters ahead of her second round match.

Sofia Kenin is the most backed contender in the Wimbledon Ladies’ singles market today, priced at 33/1.

With 53% of bets on the outright market today, the 20-year-old is by far the most backed in the Ladies’ draw.

Priced at 150/1 the day before the tournament got under way, the American’s odds crashed in as far as 25/1 after her first round success on Monday.

The youngster saw off Australian Astra Sharma in straight sets in her first match at the All England Club and this afternoon faces Dayana Yastremska. She’s odds-on at a best price of 11/17 to beat the Ukrainian.

Seeded 27th at Wimbledon and 28th in the WTA rankings, Kenin impressively won the Mallorca Open shortly before she was knocked out of Eastbourne last week by Sam Stosur.

Victoria Azarenka is also popular in the market today, as short as 25/1 and the second most backed following her second round demolition of Ajla Tomljanović.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “The next generation of female tennis players are dominating the headlines at Wimbledon so far.

“Ashleigh Barty tops the market and the exploits of 15-year-old Cori Gauff against Venus Williams show the potential for upsets. Now punters are siding with an under-the-radar American contender with a favourable draw in Kenin.”
