The 18-year old tennis sensation has seen her odds slashed from 500/1 to 12/1 to win Sports Personality of the year, following an impressive display at the US Open.
Emma Raducanu is now fourth to win SPOTY
British teenager Emma Raducanu has had her odds slashed on winning BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year award, as the 18-year-old made her maiden Grand Slam quarter-final.
The teenager dispatched Shelby Rogers on her home turf at the US Open and has since been heavily backed in the SPOTY market.
Just last month, bookies were offering an eye-popping 500/1 on the 18-year-old, whilst other athletes stole the headlines through the Olympics.
However, Raducanu’s progression to the business end of the major has seen her odds tumble into as short 8/1, almost overtaking Olympian Adam Peaty (6/1).
Raducanu is now 12/1 best price to win the coveted individual award, making her the new fourth favourite in the market, now ahead of Lewis Hamilton (14/1).

Who are the other contenders
Other notable stars that the teenager is now ahead of in the betting include; Mark Cavendish (22/1), Laura Kenny (25/1), Max Whitlock (45/1) and Raheem Sterling (66/1).
It’s competitive at the top of the market, with Tom Daley (2/1) the clear favourite on the back of an Olympic gold medal in Tokyo.
Only the aforementioned Daley (2/1), Jason Kenny (5/1) and Adam Peaty (6/1) are ahead of Raducanu in the betting at the time of writing.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "After storming onto the scene at Wimbledon earlier in the summer, teenage sensation Emma Raducanu is showing no signs of slowing down.
"The 18-year-old is yet to even drop a set at the US Open on her way to a maiden Grand Slam quarter-final, and on this evidence, you'd be brave to back against her."
