Now that most players in the men’s draw have played at least one match, oddschecker look at the latest movers in the Australian Open odds market.
Nadal to win it?
The 20-time Grand Slam winner has eased his way into the third round. So far, he has only dropped 16 games across two matches. In the third round, he faces his first seeded opponent in the form of Karen Khachanov. Despite his excellent start, Nadal is still 5/1 with one bookmaker.
The odds for the Spaniard to win the tournament are 4/1 with most bookies. ‘Rafa’ is the only former champion left in the draw and he will be hoping he can be the first player to win 21 Grand Slams.
Who could win each quarter?
If Nadal is to reach the last four in Melbourne, he will likely have to overcome Alexander Zverev as they are both in the second quarter of the draw. The young German is evens to win their quarter of the draw, while Nadal has shortened to 13/8 with five bookies.
With Novak Djokovic’s absence, the path to the quarters has become easier for Gael Monfils. The highest ranked player he will have play en route to the last eight is Cristian Garin (16th seed) whom he plays on Friday. The Frenchman is currently best odds 4/1 to win the first quarter of the draw.
