EastEnders Barry backed to win Celebrity Big Brother

EastEnders Barry backed to win Celebrity Big Brother

It’s over thirteen years since Shaun Williamson appeared in EastEnders, but the car salesman still remains popular in the eyes of punters.

A two-hour special tonight on Channel Five kicks-off the return of Celebrity Big Brother with the line-up for the series released late last week including Youtubers, a former Ex on the Beach contestant, popstars and a former Miss World.

This year will the 20th series of the show and if previous years are anything to go by we can expect a large volume of bets on the eventual winner during the next couple of months. EastEnders star, Shuan Williamson is proving a popular pick with pre-show bettors with just over 45% of all bets at 4/1 – with his odds implying a 20% chance of winning the series.

Favourites don’t always prove to be a fruitful bet in Celebrity Big Brother however, before January’s series Jedward and the duo of Heidi and Spencer Pratt were among the favourites but neither ended up victorious. The eventual winner, Coleen Nolan was a 20/1 chance pre-show, and only accounted for 1% of bets placed.

Original Love Islander and former Hollyoaks star Paul Danan, has been the second most popular contestant in terms of bets placed. Danan’s antics got him thrown off Love Island in 2005 and his behaviour has obviously stuck with viewers as he’s accounted for 18% of bets ahead of the show at odds of 9/1.

Former X-Factor contestant Amelia Lily is the third favourite to win the show behind Williamson and Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding. Punters are backing her to win the battle of the popstars and she’s the third most-backed contestant accounting for 8% of bet placed.

The bookies favourite for the series is Shaun Williamson. The EastEnders star is one of the stand out names for the show alongside Sarah Harding, which will explain the huge percentage of bets on the actor. The odds and betting following tonight’s show should give more of an indication who will make it to the final show. Oddschecker’s pick for the show is Sam Thompson, the Made in Chelsea stars persona could clash with others in the house, which tends to leave the viewers wanting more.

Best odds of contestants:
