Kayleigh Taylor's X-Factor odds drift after racial slur

Taylor has dropped in popularity to win X-Factor with bookmakers and bettors since her racist comments came to light.

After her impressive performance on X-Factor last week, Kayleigh Taylor, though not the early favourite, was given odds of as low as 12/1 by some bookmakers to win the competition this year.

But since it has been made public that she made racist comments to a former friend, bookmakers have lengthened her odds dramatically. Taylor is now 66/1 with some bookmakers since the news broke.

Her popularity with the general public seems to have fallen too, with no bets placed on Taylor in the past twelve hours. In comparison, she received around 2% of total bets on the market earlier in the week.

Grace Davies remains the favourite to win X-Factor with a massive 41% of bets on the market placed on the 20-year-old star-to-be. Davies has best odds of 9/2.

Runners up for X-Factor glory at this early stage include group Rak-Su (10/1) and Holly Tandy (18/1) who may yet prove more popular now that Taylor seems to have put herself out the running to win.
