55% of stakes placed on the show since Saturday’s show has been on impressive Irish act
Sean and Conor Price were trending number one on Youtube last night, following their outstanding copy of All Along the Watchtower. The brothers from Ireland are second favourites to win this year’s show behind Grace Davies having been cut from 12/1 to as short as 5/1 this weekend, implying a 16.7% chance of winning.
The busking brothers have accounted for 55% of all money placed from a total of 32% bets placed in the winner market since Saturday’s episode aired.
Favourite Davies shot to fame by wowing the judges earlier in the month with her own song Roots, since then she has further secured her place as favourite to win the show with her odds shortening from 7/1 to 4/1 in the last two weeks.
Since her episode was first shown on 2nd September, Gracie Jones has accounted for just over 25% of bets place on the winner of the show, ahead of the second most popular pick Sean and Conor Price (10.5%)
After three weekends of the show last year, eventual winner Matt Terry was only the second most backed act with punters, accounting for 8.65% of bets, some way behind the favourite Caitllyn Vanbeck.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “Little Mix were the last group to win the X factor in 2011, but the Irish brothers have got viewers predicting that the barren run for the groups could be over. They were undoubtedly the stars of Saturday's show and punters are convinced that they are set to go a long way in the competition.”
