A betting update after Saturday's X-Factor audition.
Alisah Bonaobra had Nicole Scherzinger in tears last night with her rendition of Beyonce’s hit Listen. She flew in from the Philippines specifically for the audition and seems to have captured the hearts of bettors and judges alike.
A fifth of all outright bets on X-Factor were have been placed on Alisah since the show aired last night. Some bookmakers have priced her at just 6/1 to win, but the best odds available are currently 18/1.
The only act to take a higher percentage of bets are second favourites Sean & Conor Price (22.22%). The Wicklow duo continue to impress and have rocketed to the summit of the YouTube charts. They remain at 5/1, having seen a surge of betting at the beginning of the week.
Favourite Grace Davies has taken 13% of all outright bets since last night’s show, but risks losing her spot as favourite if the betting patterns continue as they are.
Despite a strong audition, there was little interest in Slavko Kalezic, with a measly 2% of bets placed on the former Eurovision star. He seemed to have caught Louis Walsh’s eye, who recommended him to enter the contest, but punters aren’t in agreement at this early stage.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek: “Alisah Bonaobra looks to have come out as the big winner from last night’s audition. She was the runner-up on The Voice Philippines back in 2014 and will hope to go one better in the X-Factor.”
