The former England cricketer is an outsider to win this year’s Dancing On Ice.
The line-up has been announced for season ten of the popular show and there are a few recognisable sporting names in the roster, including cricket’s fan-favourite Monty Panesar. Unfortunately for the former Sussex player, the bookies have only given him a 5.9% chance of winning the competition, as he’s 16/1.
Cricket fans around the world have become accustomed to watching Monty Panesar throw a few shapes; his exuberant celebrations made him a popular figure when he broke onto the England Test team at the tail end of 2005 and followers will be hopeful Monty can replicate his sheer delight of taking a wicket in the ice rink.
Panesar is the same price as Love Island winner Kem Cetinay, but both are some distance from the rank outsider Cheryl Baker. Favourite for the show is Coronation star, Brooke Vincent. Vincent plays Sophie Webster on the popular ITV soap and her popularity has persuaded the bookies to price her at 6/1 to be crowned the winner.
Notable contestants include:
Brooke Vincent 6/1
Jake Quickenden 6/1
Max Evans 13/2
Donna Air 10/1
Alex Beresford 14/1
Candice Brown 14/1
Kem Cetinay 16/1
Monty Panesar 16/1
Cheryl Baker 25/1
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “Kem has already started his career as a rapper, so it is no surprise to see him take to the dancefloor in this show, although punters seemingly harbour little hope for his chances. Favourite Vincent is said to be pursuing a career in music, so she will certainly be keen to impress here”
