There's been a lot of speculation around the I'm a Celeb contestants today and betting markets have reacted.
Eight celebrity contestants have now been confirmed for this year’s series of I’m a Celeb and Jamie Lomas is the early favourite to become king of the jungle.
The 42 year-old has just left his role as villain Warren Fox in Hollyoaks and will be fresh in viewer minds over the course of his stay in the Australian outback.
Jack Maynard, the YouTube sensation and brother of singer Conor Maynard, has been the most backed in the market over the last week though at 10/1. He has accounted for 41.7% of bets in the market, with his 1.1 million YouTube subscriber list suggesting he could do very well with the backing of the younger audience.
Elsewhere in the market, another of the contestants expected to appeal to a younger demographic is Georgia Toffolo, star of Made in Chelsea, who is currently also 10/1 and has seen 20.8% of bets in the same time period.
Runners and riders in the market so far:
Jamie Lomas – 6/1
Stanley Johnson – 6/1
Jennie McAlpine – 8/1
Georgia Toffolo – 10/1
Jack Maynard – 10/1
Vanessa White – 10/1
Amir Khan – 12/1
Dennis Wise – 12/1
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek “The value definitely appears to be with the younger celebrities following Scarlett Moffatt’s win last year. With more celebs to still be confirmed this week it will be worth waiting until we are closer to Sunday’s launch date as producers may have a trick or two up their sleeve.”
