Just how much of a shock result that was is shown by the odds leading up to that elimination. The former politician, and father of Boris, was a very long shot to leave at 16/1, while it was expected Dennis Wise would be the one facing the chop at 4/11. Jamie Lomas was next in the betting, behind the former footballer at 6/1.
Jamie was actually the most backed campmate to leave through Oddschecker, accounting for 39.7% of bets. That’s following accusations of bullying towards fellow campmate Iain Lee, with Jamie and Dennis perceived as the ring leaders. Dennis picked up 26.8% of bets through the market, while Stanley was the third most backed at 16%.
Dennis is again the favourite to leave the show during tonight’s episode, while Amir’s odds have dropped from 20/1 to leave the jungle last night to 4/1 this time around.
Dennis Wise - 4/7
Amir Khan – 4/1
Jamie Lomas – 11/2
Jennie McAlpine – 8/1
Georgia “Toff” Toffolo – 100/1
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "The campmates’ treatment of Iain Lee continues to influence the public and the betting markets, which is what makes Stanley’s exit all the more surprising. Now that the result has been broadcast, Dennis again looks to be the justified favourite to be the next celebrity to leave the jungle."
