The Australian drag queen has been slashed by bookmakers and is now the 10/3 favourite.
The male contestants entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Friday night, shaking up what was previously an all-female line up. As the men filtered in it was comedian Dapper Laughs (aka Daniel O’Reilly) who bookmakers expected to be the most popular, being installed above previous favourite Maggie Oliver at the top of the market.
However, an Australian drag queen is the one that is proving most popular with punters. Courtney Act (real name Shane Jenek) was left red-faced upon entrance, as his skirt seemed to fall off leaving him bare from the waist down. Whether this was an intentional stunt or not, it definitely announced Courtney to the viewers.

Despite these dramatics, it has actually been the Aussie’s ability to handle conversations on difficult topics that has been most endearing. In the persona of Shane, he spoke eloquently and kept calm whilst debating sensitive subjects such as gender, gay marriage and various other LGBTQ issues.
Since Saturday’s episode aired, Courtney has received 44.7% of all bets on the CBB winner market, way ahead of second most Dapper Laughs (15.4%). This has caused bookies to dramatically slash odds on the drag queen winning the show. Originally available at 16/1, he is now as short as 11/4 with several firms.
