Tom Daley and partner Dustin Black recently announced they would be adopting a baby.
As Olympic diver Tom Daley and filmmaker Dustin Black head out to pick up baby supplies, bookmakers have slashed odds on the name of the new-born.
Odds for the name ‘Robert’ has been slashed by bookies, with it looking like Daley will honour his late father.
The couple announced the imminent baby on Valentine’s Day, sharing the scan on social media for the world to see.
With the baby thought to be due between August and October of this year, punters have rushed to the bookies to back what name they think the couple will choose.
Bookies have went as short as 2/1 in places for the baby to be named Robert, in commemoration of his father who tragically died from a brain tumour at 40-years-old.
Other names in the running if the baby is male are; James (6/1), Oliver (10/1), Richard (20/1), Chris (25/1) and David (33/1).
If the new-born is a girl, Charlotte (10/1) is the bookies’ favourite, followed by Emma (16/1), Georgia (33/1), Mary (33/1), Elizabeth (50/1) and Erin (50/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “These day's there is no shortage of betting markets, and interest in Tom Daley's news has provided yet another.
“9/4 suggests a 30.8% probability, which could still be value if Robert is the chosen name should the baby be a boy.”
