In the last 48 hours, there has been a surge of bets on Israel to win the Eurovision. A total of 25% of all bets have been placed on the country since all 43 countries have announced their official songs for May. They are best priced at 15/8 with Bet365.
Last year Israel announced that it would be there final year in the competition, having been in it since 1973 and have been successful on three occasions.
Back at the beginning of February, you could have got odds at a massive 50/1 with Bet365.
Yet the announcement of the song and music video has clearly inspired Oddschecker punters and they are the stand-out favourites to land the prize.
The second favourites are Estonia and Czech Republic who are both priced at 7/1.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “The amount of bets which have come for Israel has been quite incredible considering how they were rank outsiders just a month ago.
The market is bound to change over the next seven weeks leading up to the competition as we have seen before, so I expect more market movers as speculation escalates.”
