Shock ruler of Westeros revealed?

Odds slashed on Bran Stark sitting atop of the Iron Throne.

With the final season of Game of Thrones on the horizon, the natural topic of discussion is who will rule Westeros and sit in the Iron Throne.

Well, if bookmakers are right – the answer may have been revealed by a flurry of bets on the ‘Who will rule the Seven Kingdoms at the end of the final TV episode of GOT’.

Bran Stark’s odds on becoming king of Westeros were as long as 25/1 when the last season came to a finale – implying just a 4% chance of ruling.

Now, he’s as short as 5/4 favourite to come out on top, implying a huge 45% chance of being crowned ruler of the fictional landscape.

Bookies temporarily suspended the market after receiving a spurt of stakes on Bran, but have now adjusted to the demand and placed him as firm favourite.

Over the last week, a whopping 78% of all bets on the eventual ruler have been placed on Bran Stark.

Elsewhere, Daenerys Targaryen is second favourite behind Bran at 4/1, followed by Jon Snow at the same price.

The Night King is 8/1, Cersei Lannister is 9/1 and Tyrion rounds off the other front runners at 10/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “The public think they have figured out who will come out on top at the end of the final season of GOT.

“Up until now, Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen has been the standout favourite come the end of the series.

“However, after receiving a plethora of punts from the public – bookies have had to adapt and have unanimously slashed odds across the board on the oldest remaining Stark son ruling the Seven Kingdoms.”
