There are some strong favourites amongst the eight categories on site.
The NTA Awards is Television’s biggest night of the year (™) and there’s plenty of betting attention on certain markets tonight.
Eight markets are currently on Oddschecker.com, here are the runners and riders for each…
Best Comedy - Peter Kay's Car Share
Peter Kays Car Share is the 1/3 hot favourite, after the final episode of the beloved sitcom was aired last May. It’s accrued 69% of bets, with Benidorm (6/1) second favourite, gaining 15%.
Best Daytime Show - This Morning
This Morning is the ‘lock’ of the whole ceremony. A minuscule 1/25 is the price you’ll get, with GMB back at 8/1. But that price has halved from yesterday when you could get 16/1. On top of that, 55% of bets have gone on GMB, something that would no doubt please chief Twitter stirrer Piers Morgan…
The only category where the favourite is odds-against, there could be surprises here. Peaky Blinders (5/4) is the favourite but Call The Midwife is just behind at 7/4. Doctor Who is 5/1, coming off the back of Jodie Whittaker’s first season as the titular character.
David Walliams won this award last year, and he’s favourite to win it again, at 8/11. Louis Tomlinson is 7/2, but is as short as 13/8 in places. The only actual judge Robert Rinder is 8/1 and completes the top three. 58% of bets are on Walliams, making him the clear punters favourite.
The Chase is a huge favourite here. At 1/7, only This Morning has shorter odds on site for a win. Pointless is second at 9/2, but it’s Bradley Walsh’s ITV hit that is getting all the love, with 82% of bets.
Always the most keenly contested category, the ‘big two’ of Coronation Street and Eastenders are currently playing second fiddle to Emmerdale, who tops the betting at evens best price. The aforementioned pair are 2/1 and 6/1 respectively, with Hollyoaks the outsider at 10/1. Emmerdale is getting half of total bets, a win here would see the show scoop the award for the third year in a row.
Best Talent Show - Strictly Come Dancing
It looks like there’ll be no surprises here: Strictly Come Dancing is the 1/5 favourite and a huge 83% of bets have gone on the show to win for a fourth consecutive time. Britains Got Talent is 8/1 second favourite.
Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award - I'm A Celebrity
I’m A Celebrity… is 1/4 favourite, with the show going from strength to strength and recently celebrating it’s 18th series. But the most emotional winner would be Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (6/1), which could complete a comeback for Ant McPartlin, who is back filming for Britain Got Talent after personal issues.
