REVEALED: There's a new favourite to rule Westeros...

This main character has been cut to 2/1 to rule the Seven Kingdoms come the end of the series.

Sansa Stark has been cut into 2/1 joint-favourite to rule Westeros following a surge of bets on the market.

The eldest Stark sibling was as big as 28/1 just under a year ago, but her odds have systematically tumbled since then and she was just 5/1 before the final season began.

21.9% of bets in the last 24 hours have been on the Lady of Winterfell, whilst 11/2 shot Jon Snow – or Aegon Targaryen - is the next most backed with 14.1%.

Another who has seen his chances of claiming the Iron Throne increase is Robert Baratheon’s bastard son, Gendry. The Blacksmith has been cut from 12/1 to 4/1 third favourite in the last few weeks.

Bran Stark was odds-on in places not long ago, but the Three-Eyed Raven has drifted out to 2/1 now.

Elsewhere in the market, with the battle between the dead and living on the horizon, the 18/1 about the Night King could look generous come Monday morning.

Oddschecker spokesperson, George Elek: "Priced at 2/9 to live, Sansa Stark's survival chances are looking rosier than plenty of contenders for the Iron Throne.

"She showed her mettle again in last night's episode and when the dust settles from the imminent 'Battle of Winterfell', it might just fall to a character away from the front line to rule."
