We reveal the countries getting the most support in the Eurovision Song Contest market.
The Dutch won’t budge at the top of the market, now odds-on at 5/6, they’re the hot favourites to win the contest and the most backed by punters today. Duncan Laurence’s performance of “Arcade” won’t feature any ambitious staging, but plenty still fancy his piano ballad to be the winning track in the vote.
Staging could be the key this evening and it’s no surprise to see Australia getting plenty of support in the market, third behind Netherlands and Switzerland but the second most backed. Kate Miller-Heidke will be delivering her powerful song whilst suspended from a moving pole, complete with interstellar graphics.
Luca Hanni’s track “She Got Me” certainly fits the catchy criteria and bookies make it second favourite at the moment. Model and singing competition winner Hanni will be bidding to win his country a third Eurovision title, having not achieved a top ten finish since 2005.
A big market mover ahead of tonight’s final, Norway’s trio KEiiNO will be hoping to repeat the recent success of Alexander Rybak (winner in 2009 and seventh last year). They were priced at 125/1 just a couple of days ago, but they’re now as short as 18/1, with 33/1 the best price on offer.
