UK bookmakers’ longest running concurrent market looks to finally be heading to a conclusion, with Daniel Craig’s heir to the James Bond role set to be announced.
Bookies have been taking bets on the next James Bond since Craig was cast in October 2005, with a multitude of different favourites over the years.
But who is the favourite to don the tuxedo after No Time to Die? Oddschecker has taken a look at the betting.
The favourites
London-born Tom Hardy is the clear favourite to replace Craig as the next James Bond, although his odds have lengthened.
Previously an odds-on favourite, Hardy’s chances have dipped over the last few weeks as he now finds himself at 10/3 in the betting.
A new name has appeared on the list over the last few days, with County Down-born Clive Standen entering the market at 4/1.
Bridgerton heartthrob Rege-Jean Page is the third favourite at the time of writing, at the best price of 6/1.
The most backed over the last 24 hours and week is in fourth favourite at the bookies’ with McMafia star James Norton attracting 13% of all bets at 8/1.

The outsiders
After the shorter price candidates, there’s a host of names that follow just after that could be in with a shout of replacing Craig as 007.
Playing both Superman and James Bond isn’t a bad CV, and Henry Cavill is 10/1 on the periphery of the favourites betting.
Touted with the role for years, Luther’s Idris Elba is the same price at 10/1, but has been as short as 1/2 favourite over the last few years.
Lashana Lynch would make history as the first black female to take up the iconic James Bond character and is being well considered in the betting at 12/1.
Sam Heughan is 16/1 in the market, followed by Michel Fassbender (20/1), Tom Hiddleston (22/1), Cillian Murphy (28/1) and Richard Madden (33/1).
