Eurovision Odds 2024: UK odds to win after chorus released by Olly Alexander

Olly Alexander’s full UK Eurovision song for 2024 will be released on Friday 1st March.

Less than eight weeks after Olly Alexander was announced as the United Kingdom representative at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden, he has released the chorus of his song on Wednesday.

The former Years and Years frontman made waves on social media by posting a 20-second clip of the chorus for the song Dizzy, which also marks the star's first release under his own name.

Alexander has achieved two number one albums and a number one single as part of Years and Years, as well as being a six-time Brit Awards nominee.

Following the release, the UK’s odds to win Eurovision have been cut. Having been as long as 11/1 on Betfair yesterday, they are now as short as 5/1 today on BetVictor.

Ukraine are still the favourites to win Eurovision 2024 at a best price of 5/2 on William Hill. Hosts Sweden are the biggest drifters in the market, now 12/1 having been 5/1 favourites in September.

UK Eurovision Odds

Represented by Olly Alexander, the UK are second favourites to win Eurovision 2024 at a best price of 17/2 on Paddy Power for an implied chance of greater than 10%.

How many times has the UK won Eurovision?

The UK are five-time winners of the Eurovision Song Contest, but haven’t won the award since 1997 with ‘Love Shine a Light’ performed by Katrina and the Waves.

Ireland remain the joint most successful nation with seven wins (none since 1996), the same number as reigning champions Sweden who have emerged victorious in three of the last 12 years.

The UK finished in 25th place in 2023, with Mae Muller collecting just 24 points (Sweden won with 583) for her rendition of ‘I Wrote A Song’.
