
My 21st Century Blues by British singer, songwriter and producer Raye is a strong favourite to win album of the year at the Brits.
Saturday 2nd March marks the return of the Brit Awards, with Maya Jama, Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo set to host the annual awards ceremony in London’s 02 Arena.
Some of the biggest names in music will be hoping to see their hard work rewarded when British stars come together to celebrate popular music and bask in the glamorous performances of their peers.
This year’s performers include Raye, Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris. They will hope to join the long list of iconic Brit performances such as Sam Smith’s 2023 performance of Unholy or Dave’s showstopping performance of Black in 2020.
Raye has been nominated for a record-breaking seven nominations in this year’s Brit Awards and will compete with the likes of Little Simz, Blur, and J Hus for the much coveted Album of the Year award.

What is the favourite to win British Album of the Year?
Leading the betting is Raye with her debut album, My 21st Century Blues, which was co-written and produced largely by herself. The independent artist is 8/15 at Paddy Power and Betfair to win the award.
This is her first album release since she parted ways with her former label, Polydor. The album hit number two in the UK albums chart and was even shortlisted for the Mercury Prize since it was released in February 2023.
Raye has already won her first award after being named the Songwriter of the Year, which was announced before the event.
The bookmakers’ have fellow female artist Little Simz as the second favourite at 10/3 (an implied chance of 23%). Her album No Thank You is the fifth album by the British rapper and was previously nominated for the MOBO 2024 Album of the Year Award.
She previously won the Best New Artist award at this event in 2022, and the North London rapper will be hoping for a second this Saturday.
The Ballad of Darren, which is English rock band Blur’s ninth album, is the third favourite for the Brit Best Album of the Year Award at odds of 5/1 (an implied chance of 17%). The Camden-founded group is nominated for three awards this weekend.
The group, who once feuded with Oasis years ago, will be hoping to mark their masterful comeback as British pop icons with this prestigious award.
