Eurovision Odds 2024: UK 25/1 to win after Olly Alexander’s Dizzy release

Eurovision Odds 2024: UK 25/1 to win after Olly Alexander’s Dizzy release

After a disappointing second last in 2023, the UK has high hopes as the ex-Years and Years frontman seeks to bring home the UK’s sixth Eurovision award with the song ‘Dizzy’.

In last year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Mae Muller concluded the competition in Liverpool by securing the 25th position, receiving just nine public votes and 15 from the jury.

Her song, "I Wrote a Song," paled in comparison to Sweden's contestant and bookmaker favourite before the competition, Loreen, whose song "Tattoo" garnered a staggering total of 587 votes.

In this year's 68th edition of the song contest, the UK representative is Olly Alexander, who will represent them in Malmo, Sweden. Hailing from Harrogate, the singer carries the nation's hopes, aiming to secure their sixth-ever victory.

Olly is a distinguished singer and actor, boasting an impressive track record. With two number-one UK albums, 10 top 40 singles, and a BRIT Billion award to his name, his credentials speak volumes.

Additionally, he has forged collaborations with industry titans like Elton John and Kylie Minogue, further solidifying his standing in the entertainment world.

He has even achieved immortality at the renowned London attraction Madame Tussauds, where his wax figure stands alongside some of the globe's most prominent icons, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Styles.

He is currently just inside the top 10 favourites for the competition, which starts on May 7th.

Eurovision 2024 will be hosted in Sweden for the sixth time in the competition’s history. The UK’s best result in Sweden was a 2nd place finish from their 1992 Eurovision entry, Michael Ball.
