It’s early May and that means one thing: Eurovision.

After Loreen’s historic second win in the UK in last year’s competition, Europe’s top pop talent take to the stage in Malmo, Sweden, this week for a chance to etch their name into continental-pop-folklore.

Semi-final one for Eurovision 2024 will take place on Tuesday 7th May, with the second hitting our screens on Thursday 9th May, before the Grand Final on Saturday 11th

But, before a song has even been sung, who currently stands as the favourite to take the much-coveted crown?

Who is the favourite to win Eurovision 2024?

The current favourite with the bookies is Croatia’s Baby Lasagna, who stormed to victory in his home nation’s selection competition, Dora, despite originally being a backup for the main lineup.

His song, ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ is out in the lead at 2/1 (BetMGM) to win, and would become the country’s first ever Eurovision triumph.

Croatia’s closest rival is Switzerland’s Nemo at 7/2 (BetVictor). The nation’s last win came in 1988 courtesy of one Céline Dion, who ousted the UK by a single point.

The chasing pack is made up of 2022 winners Ukraine at 9/2 (BetMGM), and 2021 victors Italy at 11/2 (Betfair).

But it’s bad news from the bookies when it comes to Great Britian and Ireland. The Irish entrant, Bambie Thug, is rated at a lowly 25/1 (Unibet) and the UK’s hopeful, former Years & Years frontman, Olly Alexander, is even lower at 80/1 (also Unibet).

However, the public have been putting their money on Dutch entrant, Joost Klein. At 13/1 (Paddy Power) his song, ‘Europapa’ has gathered 20.79% of bets placed. The bookies’ favourite, Croatia, are next in line, with 13.86% of bets placed.

So, the stage is set, but come Saturday night, who will take the ultimate title in Europop?
